Mr. Owiti Crispus Ochieng is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a Partner at Owiti Muiruri & Co. Advocates LLP, with deep expertise at the intersection of law, AI governance, and data protection. He also serves as a Consultant Researcher at the Judicial Service Commission.
He is a certified AI Governance expert and Data Protection Practitioner, with professional qualifications in Legal Audit and Compliance, EGDPR, Cybersecurity, and Information Technology.
At ACAIGO Owiti serves as Chief AI Research Strategist, where he defines and drives the Centre’s AI policy and research agenda. He sets strategic priorities aligned with African governance needs and global developments, and steers the Centre’s long-term vision, positioning it as a leading authority on AI governance across the continent.
His work is defined by a strong focus on governance , and the development of forward-looking AI policy frameworks that respond to Africa’s evolving digital landscape.
Owiti holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from Moi University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.
